1.
The early registration opening April 1st is for our Fall Football and Cheer season that begins in August. We begin registration in April so that we can begin gathering numbers for uniform, equipment and draft purposes.
2. The grade levels shown on the registration form are for what grade your child/children will be entering for the 2026-2027 school year - NOT what grade they are currently in. Please see registration flyer for corresponding levels.
3. Refunds will not be issued as we have already begun to incur costs for the upcoming season.
4. Our practices will begin at the end of July. Games will begin at the end of August and go through October. A schedule will not be decided and released until the middle of August as we are part of the SYFC (Suburban Youth Football Conference) and they determine the schedule.
5. Practices are held during the week (M-TH) between the hours of 6pm-8pm (practice length and numbers of days varies based on level and if it is football or cheer). Games will be played on Saturdays (rare chance of a Sunday game should teams make the playoffs).
6. The league as a whole will be doing a Fundraiser. Families can choose to pay the opt out fee per registrant at the time of registration or they will be asked to sell or purchase tickets they are assigned per registrant.
7. Players/Cheerleaders who are returning to the same level as the previous year, will remain on the same team color, unless you request a new team and then your child will be entered into the draft. If your child is moving to a new level, they will be entered into the draft.
8. Requests for players/cheerleaders to be on a team with the friends or for carpooling purposes WILL NOT be accepted. We have to place coaches children on the same team as well as have the ability to place siblings on the same team color and this has to be our priority for placement.
11. The draft will take place in July.
12. For those who will be new to BDYF, BDYF is part of the SYFC which is a travel league but the SYFC does their best to even out the home/away games.
What does my registration fee pay for?
Our league is a nonprofit, community-run organization. Registration fees do more than just cover the uniform or equipment your child receives—they fund the entire operation that makes a safe, organized, and high-quality season possible for every athlete.
Your registration dollars go toward:
-
Purchasing new equipment and uniforms
-
Reconditioning and certifying helmets and pads for safety
-
League and liability insurance
-
Registration system costs and processing fees
-
Field rentals and usage fees
-
Storage rental for equipment and supplies
-
Game-day photographer
-
Portable restroom rentals at fields
-
Field lining and painting
-
Helmet decals, pom-poms, and cheer bows
-
Referee and official fees
-
Administrative costs (accountant, state audit fees, required filings)
We also must maintain a responsible cash balance from year to year. This allows us to:
-
Pay early, upfront expenses before registration opens
-
Handle emergencies or unexpected repairs
-
Replace unsafe or outdated equipment immediately
-
Start each season without financial risk or debt
Because we are a nonprofit, every dollar is reinvested back into the program—not for profit, but to provide safe fields, certified equipment, trained officials, and a great experience for all athletes. Registration is not a “pay only for what my child gets” model—it is a shared investment that keeps the entire league running for every family in our community.
Coaches needed for the Fall 2026 season:
Our league cannot run nor be successful without our volunteer football and cheer coaches. We are asking that anyone who may be interested in coaching this Fall, please reach out to BDYF President, Casey Corrigan, via email at
[email protected].
We have a need for coaches at every level but especially our flag level. We strive to provide our youth with an excellent experience and having volunteer coaches helps us to ensure we can do just that. It also prevents our rosters from being overloaded which makes it extremely difficult for both coaches and our youth athletes. No previous coaching experience is needed.
As always, thank you to everyone who has supported and continues to support our league. We are looking forward to providing our youth athletes with a great 2026 season.
